The festival SLAVIC LIGHT has been held annually since the year 2009 in Johvi, Ida-Viru County, Estonia (160 km eastward from Tallinn).
Every year it is held in the second weekend of July, in the open air, in the city park territory, next to the city concert hall (by the way, one of the best in Baltic countries).
In the year 2012 more than 760 performers (musicians, choirs, dancers, singers, artists, handicrafters etc) participated in the festival, as well as there were nearly 10 000 visitors from Estonia and neighbouring Russia (St. Petersburg, Novgorod, Pskov etc), including VIPs from several embassies, municipalities, governmental organisations, cultural commitees; businessmen etc.
Not only slavic cultures were represented at the festival stages, handicrafters' tents and national open-air cafes (like Russian, Ukrainian, Byelorussian, Polish) but Estonian, Latvian, Gipsy, Ingrian as well. The festival is supported by the embassies of Russia, Byelorussia, some partner cities from Ukraine, St. Petersburg Cultural Commitee, Polish non-governmental organisations, private companies etc.
Every year the festival has covered by media from Estonia and St. Petersburg.

For this year, 2013, we decided to expand the geography of the countries and cultures represented at the festival. That's why we decided to unite slavic, Eastern European and mediterranean cultures in 2 mutual festivals  - 'Slavic Light' and 'Vine Fiesta' - taking place at the same territory.

Unlike previous festivals, this year the festival will take place 3 days (July 12, 13 and 14, 2013). So it means at least twice more visitors in compare with previous festivals which took place 1 day only.
The opening ceremony starts July 12th in the afternoon, so the closing ceremony will take place in July 14th in the afternoon.

Features:  singers, dancers etc from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, Estonia, Azerbaijan, Georgia (headliners: Londonbeat (UK), folk-pop band Ivan Kupala (RUS), Albert Asadullin & MinusTreli (RUS), folk-rock band Svjata Vatra (UKR-EST); open-air restaurants, handicrafters, wine producers and distributors, amusements etc.
